Operating Room Nurse PRN
Responsibilities
USPI Hyde Park Surgery Center, is seeking a motivated Operating Room Nurse to join our team. We have 3 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Spine. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings; schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day.
Job Description:
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all age patients in the operating room: positioning, prepping, circulating, assisting the surgical technician, and other duties as necessary. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director or Operating Room Charge, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Required Skills:
Required/Preferred Skills:
· Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
· Preferred 1 year previous OR experience (Ortho and ENT experience preferred)
· Current unrestricted Texas License as a Registered Nurse
· Current in BLS, ACLS and PALS upon hire
· Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
· Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees
· Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse
· Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities
· Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
· Clinically proficient in operating room nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient
