The Director of Operations Finance will work directly with the Vice President of Operations Finance and be responsible for the financial oversight of all surgical operations, helping to drive process enhancements and margin improvements across the company. This position will be the key home office liaison for the Operations leadership team. This position will play a key role in monthly reporting, communicating key drivers to management and enhancing our data and systems in order to get more reliable, real-time analytics to influence performance. The Director will be a key player in the forecasting and budgeting process, capital planning and assist with pro-forma modeling as well as ad-hoc analytics.

Job Responsibilities and Major Duties:

  1. Coordinating profit improvement initiatives
    1. Cost management approaches (SWB, D&M and other Operating Expenses)
      1. Work with D&M teams to assess missed or additional opportunities in the field and ensure operations leaders understand the real P&L financial impacts
      2. Work with home office teams and BI teams to get meaningful and actionable reporting to the facilities to better manage and drive down costs
    2. Hot Spot Reviews – Management of Hotspots, related reviews, sharing best practices across markets and executive reporting
      1. Lead role in analysis, insights, turnaround plans, accountability and monitoring
    3. Facility Closures – coordinate facility closure and wind-down activities
  2. Reporting
    1. Monthly reporting, case reporting, budgeting, roll-up reporting, various board slide reporting, growth reporting, total joint reporting, MOR reporting
    2. Analyzing what happened & actively participate in select facility MOR's (i.e. top 10/bottom 10); explanations of performance, assist in preparation for USPI MORs
    3. Work closely with data warehouse and BI teams to enhance facility reporting, accuracy and timeliness of data with a focus on weekly and mid-month performance analysis
    4. Create and maintain a real-time dashboard of case volume and payor/acuity mix
    5. Various ad hoc analytics, deep dive on physician data and business development impacts
  3. Budgets, Forecasts & Ad-Hoc Requests
    1. Assist in coordinating the annual budgeting process, targets, deliverables, reviews
    2. Work on rolling forecasts at a center-level to accurately project next 5 quarters
    3. Review of all acquisitions, denovos and relocation proformas
    4. Special projects, center-level requests, pro-forma development
  4. Capital Planning
    1. Manage capital project costs for average annual capex spend and review project proformas
    2. Prepare and present a monthly consolidated Capital forecast to the executive team
    3. Work closely with project managers, operations, development and accounting teams to accurately forecast all surgical operations capital expenditures and ROIs



Qualifications:
    • Requires a master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
    • Minimum of 7 years related experience
    • Demonstrated experience using Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products
    • Strong financial data analysis, data architecture skills and data modeling skills
    • Ability to communicate with and drive projects with senior level executives
    • Experience building and managing a team and retaining/developing talent
    • Knowledge of health care industry preferred
    • Position will require limited travel, depending on specific initiatives and need
