LOCATION: Dallas (Preferred)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President of Partnerships will oversee a portfolio of ambulatory surgery centers nationwide, in which USPI has made strategic equity investments, participates in the joint venture but does not deliver management services (non-managed centers). Responsibilities include representing USPI on Governing Boards to ensure alignment of strategic objectives, managing a team of Regional Directors who support the centers’ administrators to achieve performance goals, as well as coordinate support from corporate and third-party resources, consistent with USPI’s role as a joint venture partner and with USPI’s policies and procedures. The role is also responsible for partnership management with a focus on developing and nursing relationships with physician partners. Furthermore, the role will support strategic opportunities for USPI to further invest in centers and transition to USPI management services, as appropriate.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize the performance of non-managed ambulatory surgery centers, aligning with the overall goals and objectives of USPI. This includes growth opportunities, streamlining operations and maximizing financial performance.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of annual business plans for each Regional Director.
  • Oversee the financial and operational performance of non-managed centers, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of key financial metrics.
  • Conducts monthly review of the plan during MOR calls.
  • Supervises the initial formulation of the plan and ensures quarterly updates are presented at the board level and during partnership meetings.

Leadership Development:

  • Lead and inspire a team of Regional Directors responsible for overseeing operations. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure that each team member is equipped to perform their roles effectively and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Conduct HR training, Financial Reimbursement training, and health system partners training.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to inform strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the organization.
  • Proactively identify high-potential talent, develop personalized training programs tailored to the Regional Director’s needs and career goals, and implement succession planning initiatives to ensure a seamless transition of roles and responsibilities.

Partnership Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with physicians and other stakeholders involved in the operation of ambulatory surgery centers. This involves regular communication, collaboration on strategic initiatives, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Attend and serve as the representative of USPI on Governing Boards associated with the ambulatory surgery centers. Uphold corporate governance standards, contribute to strategic decision-making and advocate for the interests of USPI while collaborating with other board members and stakeholders.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration across departments and levels of organization, ensuring alignment of efforts toward common goals. Maintain regular communication with corporate leadership, Presidents, and other stakeholders to provide updates, seek input, and address any challenges or opportunities.
  • Lead the transition process for non-managed centers to become managed facilities within USPI. This includes coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure a smooth integration process, maintaining continuity of operations, and implementing best practices for efficiency and quality care.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the health professions, business administration, public administration or other suitable field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience with exposure to healthcare business development & operations, finance, and business consulting
  • Demonstrated success with people management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with “C” level healthcare partners, physicians, employees, patients, and fellow workers.
  • Excel & PowerPoint analytical and presentation skill a must
  • Ability to effectively articulate financial results respond to questions from hospital and physician partners.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude to assist with financial budgeting, reporting and analysis.
