Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in providing x-ray care of the surgical patient in the OR suite.
DUTIES:
- To utilize knowledge of radiology equipment and supplies needed while giving indirect patient care.
- To perform the tasks, including: Assists in set up of x-ray equipment in correlation with scrub tech and nurse in room; Assists with preparation, transportation, and monitoring of patients; Handles equipment correctly and checks for cleanliness and proper working condition; Maintains sterile field throughout the surgical procedure; Performs room clean up following procedures as well as general housekeeping duties; Provides assistance in emergency situations as directed.
- To function efficiently as a member of the surgical team.
1.Provides assistance to team members, physicians, and anesthesia personnel as needed (i.e., reliability, initiative, work relations, training needs.)
2.Reviews physicians’ preference cards and updates as needed.
3.Assists with stocking, preparation, and waste management of supplies.
4.Performs other related duties as assigned
- To support quality activities.
1.Develop communication skills and promote departmental relationships to ensue continuity of care.
2.Participates in on-going committee and other educational programs to enhance patient care.
3.Maintain CPR certification.
Required Skills:
- High School graduate or have completed a GED
- Must be x-ray certified
- At least one year experience
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team
- Basic knowledge of surgical technique; assist in providing care for the surgical patient
- Possess the ability to handle stress.
