DAY SHIFT

Call Required

The Radiologic Technologist performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner in a busy and large operating room/surgery setting and in a diagnostic setting for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center. 

Responsibilities and expectations:

  • Operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS, Mini C-ARM, and O-ARM.
  • Prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medications.
  • Comfortable working in a surgical suite with both nurses and surgeons. 
  • Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.
  • Performs diagnostic X-rays in an inpatient, outpatient, and PACU setting. 

Required Skills:

Must possess strong OR skills.

Experience using GE OEC C-Arms preferred.

Must possess independent decision making skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.

Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.

Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.

AART Registered and CPR Current.

Must have a current Texas state license (MRT)

Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certification

  • Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate
  • Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License
  • Current BLS certification

Specific Job Experience

  • Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exam
