Radiology Tech at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

·       Duties include operation of X-ray equipment, C-ARMS, preparing patient rooms and the equipment. 

·       Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.

·       Exams include all surgery, radiology cases and regular diagnostic cases.

Required Skills:

Education:

·       High School diploma or equivalent

·       Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

·       Graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiology Technology

Licensure/Certification:

·Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

·Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License

·Current BLS certification

Required Experience:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exams
  • Experience using C-Arms in an Operating room
  • Must possess independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way
  • Ability to utilize the Electronic Health Record for patient documentation

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center. Exams.
  • Operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS, prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medications.
  • Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
  • Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams preformed.
  • Exams include all surgery radiology cases and regular diagnostic cases.
  • Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination
  • Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures
  • Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Manager
  • Takes emergency call as assigned
