Full-Time PreOp PACU RN 

No holidays, no weekends and no call required!

Surgi-Center of Central VA is a leading multispecialty surgery center committed to providing exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art facility. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals delivers high-quality surgical services across a range of specialties, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PreOp PACU RN to join our team on a full-time basis. The PreOp PACU RN plays a critical role in preparing patients for surgery and providing post-anesthesia care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their surgical journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, ensuring patients are prepared for surgery both physically and emotionally.
  • Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
  • Monitor patients closely in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), assessing their recovery and vital signs.
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding postoperative care and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition between preoperative and postoperative phases.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of nursing care plans.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.

Required Skills:
  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PreOp or PACU setting preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to providing safe and compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
