We are currently seeking a highly skilled and certified Surgical Technician to join our team. If you are passionate about assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.
Job Overview: As a Certified Surgical Technician at Haymarket Surgery Center, you will play a pivotal role in the operating room. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting surgeons and nurses, and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Setup: Prepare and set up the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assistance: Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
- Patient Care: Assist with patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation, while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Instrumentation: Handle and organize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and availability.
- Emergency Response: Act swiftly during emergency situations, providing surgical instruments and supplies as needed.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of surgical instruments and supplies, restocking as necessary.
- Infection Control: Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
- Documentation: Accurately document all pertinent information related to surgical procedures and instrument counts.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical operations.

Required Skills:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician in an operating room setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines.
