Responsibilities

Our center supports a wide range of surgical specialties and is built on excellence, teamwork, and compassion.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our operating room team. This role is essential in ensuring each procedure runs safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical abilities, strict attention to sterile technique, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon and team needs to support an efficient workflow
- Verify instruments and supplies are sterile, complete, and properly arranged
- Assist the circulating nurse with sponge, needle, and instrument counts
- Gown and glove surgeons and assistants while upholding aseptic technique
- Assist with cleaning, decontamination, and processing of instruments
- Maintain accurate physician preference cards and label pathology specimens correctly
- Follow infection control guidelines and patient safety protocols
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, physicians, and patients

Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
- Familiarity with surgical instruments and procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and adapt quickly
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited Scrub Tech program
- Must hold an active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, as required by the State of Texas for surgical technologists working in ambulatory surgery centers.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech in an OR setting
- Experience in multi-specialty cases preferred
