JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Facilities manager, the Housekeeping attendant is responsible for environmental cleaning and disinfecting, unloading linen carts and keeping linen room organized. This individual performs a variety of routine cleaning functions, isolation room terminal cleaning and stocking the linen carts in assigned area to maintain a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition.

Required Skills:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent preferred.

  • Be able to read, write and follow instructions.

  • Minimum of two years of housekeeping experience.  Hospital experience preferred.

  • Have the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.

  • Preferred knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting agents with dwell (kill) times.

  • Be able to perform daily cleaning of assigned patient rooms, isolation rooms, offices, restrooms and other areas.

  • Lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.

  • Must be able to perform periodic or situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor such as stocking linen carts and taking out trash carts.

  • Be able to keep carts and work areas organized.
