Responsibilities
PRN PACU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Prince William Surgery Center, Manassas, VA
Position Type: PRN (As Needed), No Weekends, No Holidays, No Call Required
Prince William Surgery Center is seeking a PRN PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The PRN PACU RN will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in our multispecialty surgery center. This position offers flexibility with no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients post-operatively in the PACU, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and overall recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and potential complications.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff in the PACU.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards.

Required Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of Virginia.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or critical care nursing preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Willingness to work on an as-needed basis with no weekend, holiday, or call responsibilities.
