Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our surgery center. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment while contributing to the financial success of our center.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Generate and submit claims to insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid, using appropriate billing codes and modifiers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, including appeals and resubmissions as necessary.
- Process payments, post adjustments, and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Communicate with patients, insurance carriers, and providers to resolve billing-related inquiries and disputes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, coding updates, and insurance policies.
- Prepare and analyze billing reports to monitor revenue cycle performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, including coding and revenue cycle management, to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.

Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a surgery center or healthcare facility.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles.
- Familiarity with insurance verification, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Longevity in past roles.
