Full-Time : Certified Surgical Technologist 

$10k Sign-On Bonus Available

Eye Surgery Center of Nashville is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist  to join our medical team who wants to work Monday - Thursday with occasional half day Fridays. Eye Surgery Center of Nashville is a single specialty Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center in downtown Nashville. Job Summary:

Assists surgical team during operative procedures.  Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operation, and passes items as needed to the operating team.  Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating theater. The OR Tech is responsible for the provision of surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.    

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to surgery
  • Demonstrates ability to meet patient's and family's learning needs as identified in the plan of care.
  • Demonstrates continued competence in treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
  • Assists with receipt and distribution of central supply, floor stock, office and stock supplies and rental equipment.
  • Assists all inventory control programs in accordance with facility safety and security procedures.
  • Properly processes instruments and trays
  • Utilizes appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to perform relevant cleaning functions on a variety of surfaces and finishes.
  • Orients the patient and family to the patient care environment, surgery
  • center and unit routines
  • Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues.
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.

Qualifications:

  • Licenses or Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support Course within 6 months of hire, Certified Scrub Tech or LPN
  • Preferred two years’ experience as OR tech.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively assist physician with operative procedure.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Knowledge of inventory/stock procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to details
  • Knowledgeable of cleaning principles of both environment and equipment
  • Ability to communicate well with patients, physicians, co-workers, etc.

Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Scrub Tech program required
  • Must have Certified Surgical Technologist through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistant
  • Previous experience as a Scrub Tech for 2 years is desired
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the team
  • Strong understanding of aseptic technique
