Job Summary

The Director of Quality & Compliance participates in the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the activities and functions of performance improvement, risk management, infection control, Joint Commission, and special projects. Serves as a resource to Administration, the Medical Staff, and other Departments. Evaluates quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to healthcare-associated infections. Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel; Sets and recommends policies and procedures to prevent adverse events; provides internal and external reporting of information and data; promotes compliance with regulations, guidelines, and accreditation requirements. The Director of Quality & Compliance oversees/supervises the following departments: Quality, Infection Prevention, Education, Compliance, and Employee Health. The Director of Quality & Compliance will also serve at the hospitals Compliance/Privacy Officer.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse or related healthcare field in the State of Tennessee.
  • Five (5) years leadership experience in an acute care facility
  • Privacy Officer experience preferred
  • A minimum of two years experience in quality management, compliance, and infection control preferred.
  • A minimum of two years experience with Joint Commission strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of one-year experience with internal and external data management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospital organizations, committees, department functions, and performance improvement activities.
  • Effective communication, organizational and leadership skills, independent decision-making, and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of TJC, Medicare, and The State of Tennessee standards.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Working knowledge in areas of patient care practices
  • Independent decision making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent Communication skills with staff and physicians.
  • Must have excellent presentation, report preparation, and technology skills.
