 This position is 100% on-site

Eye Surgery Center of Nashville is seeking a skilled Scheduler to join our medical team who wants to work Monday - Thursday with occasional half day Fridays. Eye Surgery Center of Nashville is a single specialty Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center in downtown Nashville. Job Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients for the surgery center and assists with insurance verification when needed.  The Scheduling Coordinator must display excellent telephone etiquette as he/she manages calls of utmost importance to providing quality and continuity of individual patient care.  Reports to work in acceptable business attire.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedules all surgical procedures.
  • Obtains and enters all necessary information from surgeon or scheduler requesting OR time.
  • Is aware of instruments and equipment limitations of the department.
  • Communicates with OR Director/Administrator regarding managing block time.
  • Communicates special equipment, instrument, supply, and staffing requests to the OR Director.
  • Proofreads and edits all surgery schedules before distributing.
  • Refers conflicts and procedural questions to the OR Director.
  • Keep all department managers informed of changes affecting current schedule.
  • Assists in pre-certification of Kaiser patients.
  • Prepares final version of schedule for the following day.
  • Participates and supports BDP/QI programs and activities.
  • Cross-train in front desk areas, to include Switchboard, Insurance Verification, and Check-in.
