Registered Nurse - Operating Room-$2500 Sign On Bonus
Mary Immaculate Ambulatory Surgery Center is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center that specializes in various surgical case lines. We are offering a $2500 sign on bonus for the best qualified candidate.
We are committed to excellence in patient care- EVERY patient-EVERY time. We are currently seeking to add a circulating RN to our nursing staff. The ideal candidate will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. This professional will be responsible for circulating all case-lines and previous experience in diverse surgeries is highly valued.
A circulating nurse operates as a go-between for the operating room staff and the rest of the surgery center. They are not scrubbed in. A circulating nurse does the initial assessment of the patient as he/she is wheeled into the operating room and makes sure that the patient is comfortable. The circulator assists the anesthesiologist in preparing the patient for anesthesia. The circulating nurse also assists the surgeon and scrub nurse as they scrub in and prepare for the surgery. During the surgery, circulating nurses pass supplies to the surgical team as necessary. If something is required from outside of the room, or if the surgeon needs a message passed on to another staff or family member, it falls to a circulating nurse.
After the surgery, the circulating nurse counts opened packages and used supplies, to make sure the numbers add up correctly. They are responsible for delivering report to the PACU team during the transfer to recovery. They are a vital member of the surgical team and ensuring patient safety.
