Responsibilities
The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Arizona has an immediate need for a full time OR Assistant to join the team!
Job Summary:
Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with applying patient monitors in the operating room and assisting with the setup and takedown of surgical procedures. Assists in the turnover process in the operating room. Develops a system for the stocking of operating rooms and helping to get supplies, instruments, and equipment throughout the day. May also assist Materials Manager with stocking of supplies. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical and/or procedural services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards
- Knows and adheres to Universal Protocol
- Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
- Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
- Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
- Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
- Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
- Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
- Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.
Required Skills:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current CPR or BLS. CNA, MA or other certifications preferred.
- Demonstrates necessary clinical competency.
