Southwestern Ambulatory Surgery Center has an immediate opening for a full time Billing Collections/Patient Registration!

Job Summary:

Billing CollectionsThe Medical Billing Collections is responsible for follow up on delinquent surgery services claims, working an expected number of claims per day. Majority of claims will have been submitted to various insurance carriers electronically. Knowledge of how to interpret a managed care contract, Medicare and Medicaid and Workers Compensation claims is a must. Extensive contact with insurance carriers of all types, as well as communication with patients regarding out of pocket amounts is required. Identification of accounts that have been either under or over paid, issuing credit balance information either to the insurance carrier or the patient.

Patient RegistrationThe Patient Registration interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff; Admit patients and process their paperwork; Update patient demographics/information in system; Collect monies due and document in the billing system; Handle funds per office procedure. Answer incoming phone calls. filing and other duties as needed.

***Must be able to start work at 5:30am***


Required Skills:
  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Must have 2 years of medical billing collections experience. 
  • CPT/HCPCS - ICD 10 knowledge.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, remittance advices, EOB’s, UB’s.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience.
  • Proficient computer software skills (Microsoft Office Products including Excel & Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills.
