Responsibilities
USPI's East Portland Surgery Center is looking for a PreOp/PACU RN to joing their team!!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
·Follows policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for pre- and post-operative nursing care according to accepted standards
·Plans, implements, and evaluates pre- and post-operative nursing care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs, and according to physician’s orders
·Organizes and prepares medical records of patients – documents care appropriately and fully – follows up on missing data and other patient care needs
·Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of intravenous therapy, medication administration and effects, patient assessment, airway maintenance, patient teaching, emotional/social support of patients and families, and other needed clinical competencies
- Performs additional duties as needed by the department
·Actively participates in appropriate committee and CQI activities
- Informs clinical managers of applicable day-to-day situations
- May fill in for Pre-op / PACU / Clinical Manager if they are on leave
·May provide help to other Portland area USPI facilities if required
Qualification requirements:
·Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (associates or bachelor's degree)
·Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years total RN experience
·Current Oregon License as a Registered Nurse
·Current BLS & ACLS
·Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
·The ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and staff
·Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
·Prefer experience with medical software programs such as Advantx, Amkai, or Epic
·Full range of physical mobility (position requires sustained sitting, standing, stooping, lifting as much as 50 lbs., carrying, repetitive motions, reading, answering phones, etc.)
·Self-motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment, with the ability to problem solve with minimal direction or guidance
·Consistent, reliable attendance
·Efficient use of resources
·Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment
·Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
·Reliable means of transportation
