Job Details

Responsible for working aged accounts as assigned by management. Assists with special accounts receivable projects. Participates in providing feedback regarding Collections policies and procedures. Assists with training and ongoing education for new hires and existing employees.


Required Skills:

Collections procedures

  • Knowledge of Meditech, Insurance tabs, user tables for insurance carriers, CPT, procedure, and diagnosis codes.
  • Knowledge of facility Managed Care Contracts.
  • Knowledge of required detailed accurate information policies and procedures.
  • Verifies data for accuracy.
  • Knowledge of CBO collections procedures.
  • Knowledge of how to research payments/EOBs Knowledge of how to spot and report trends
  • Knowledge of how to work correspondence and ensure it has been worked.
  • Knowledge of how to pull medical records in order to submit to the insurance companies for review.
  • Knowledge of how to scan documents in for the department.

Other assignments

  • Works with teammates to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Assists with workflow distribution as directed by Management.
  • Work assigned facility AR and special projects as assigned.
  • Notify Management of any discrepancies and/or trends identified through AR review.
  • Ability to interact with team members, management and facility staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years previous collections experience in a CBO environment.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and managed Medicare
  • Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
  • Knowledge of Meditech and Noridian
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD codes
  • Good communication skills: written and verbal.
