Job description
North Atlantic Surgical Suites is an ambulatory surgical center specializing in total knee and hip replacement surgery and orthopedic spinal surgery. Conveniently located on the Massachusetts border in Salem, New Hampshire, the state-of-the-art facility was created by leading-edge surgeons from Boston area Hospitals to provide the best possible patient experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for the following:
- Greeting and checking in patients, managing phones calls & voicemails while attending to patient needs and documenting patient interactions accurately into various software programs.
- Prioritizes and organizes work accordingly.
- Assist in scheduling procedures, insurance benefit & prior authorization verification, and other scheduling needs.
- Ability to use payer web tools and interacting with payer staff.
- Prepares patients estimate of procedures and calls/advises patients of financial liability and prepayment requirements while advising supplemental payment options.
- Confirm, enter, and/or update all required demographic data on patient and/or guarantor in software.
- Obtaining copies of insurance card & ID, ensuring all patient signatures are listed on all required registration documents and scanned into patient accounting system.
- Collect patient payments while accurately tracking utilizing money logs and noting patient account of transaction.
- Monitor, collect payment, and provide medical records for third party requesters.
- Printing, building, & scanning of all patient charts.
- Oversee and resolve all missing documents for billing.
- Maintains clean & orderly space at front desk and the waiting room.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
No Weekends/No Major Holidays/No Call Required

Required Skills:
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Two years of medical insurance verification, checking-in patients, and the ability to multi-task is required
