Job Summary: The Surgical Tech provides direct and indirect services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks as necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the operating room, as well as the delivery of quality of care. Monitors par level of surgical supplies. Maintains the proper functioning of surgical instruments. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments.

Required Skills:

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician-training program.
  • Certified in surgical technology (CST or CORT).
  • Minimum 1 year experience.
  • BLS
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Care and handling of surgical instruments
  • Aseptic technique
  • Principles of Standard Precautions
  • Principles of decontamination and sterilization
