Responsibilities
USPI Theda Oaks Gastro and Endo is seeking a motivated Endoscopy Technician to join our team. Our team is small, but we are mighty! Current operations are M-F, 5:30 a.m. - 6:30p.m., however hours will depend on patient flow. We have 4 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology and Pain Management
Job Summary:
The Endo Tech assists endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures. They arrange and inventory sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the endoscopy team. Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the endoscopy room. The Endo Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility. The tech also stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures. Job function will include both scope processing and procedure assistance.
Job Duties: include but not limited to
- Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures. Performs gastrointestinal procedures as ordered by the physician.
- Cleans and disinfects instruments after use.
- Prepare and distribute patient records, and reports.
- Prepares and delivers specimens to the lab.
- Maintains standards of cleanliness required for patient examining rooms.
- Transport patients to and from procedure room
- Assist in trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining equipment.
- Ensures standards of quality control as set by the department and policy are maintained.
- Treats guests, patients, physicians and employees with care, and courtesy and respect.
- Check ASC paperwork for all necessary signatures/times at the end of the day.
- Stock all supplies needed for the procedure room, to prep for the next day.
- May begin IV process for patients
- Process all endoscopes, tubing, and equipment according to policies and procedures.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent (required)
2 to 5 years of experience in GI or hospital surgical setting (required)
BLS certification (required)
Medical or nursing assistance certification (preferred)
Endoscopy/GI scope or surgical technician certification (preferred)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work as a team player
Must be conscientious, self-motivated, organized and possess the ability to multi-task.
