Registered Nurse GI
Responsibilities
USPI GAB Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated RN GI to join our team. We have 1 OR room and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to be changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. The candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to endoscopy patient. The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
- Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
- Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
- Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
- Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
- Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
- Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
- May perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Must have current RN license
- CPR, ACLS required (must have current ACLS or achieve within 6 months of hire).
- CGRN board eligible/certified preferred.
- One-year clinical nursing experience; recent clinical endoscopy/ambulatory experience
- Bilingual (Spanish)
