JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse, in the operating room, provides nursing care and service during surgery cases.

The RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case.

The ideal candidates will be focused on excellent customer service, can multi-task, have the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies, and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team.

The position requires:

  • Weekdays only
  • No Holidays
  • No Weekends
  • No Calls.
  • Some later evenings are required.

The successful Candidate: 

  • Determines data collection based on the patient's condition or needs as related to the proposed interventions
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change.
  • Demonstrates a positive can-do attitude

  • Demonstrates knowledge and follows AORN standards
  • Functions as a team member
  • Completes initial and annual competencies as required.
  • Maintains licenses and certifications.
  • Adheres to dress code, attendance punctuality, meal break, and rest periods
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Attends required department and hospital meetings.
  • Assumes responsibility for continuing education requirements

Required Skills:
  • Current Florida Nursing License
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
  • Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Minimum 2 years Orthopedic experience preferred; But not required.
