USPI New Mexico Multispecialty Surgery Center is hiring a Full Time PAT Pre-Admissions Testing Nurse (RN/LPN/MA)

USPI New Mexico Multispecialty Surgery Center is a fast-paced environment committed to providing the highest quality service to our patients and their families.

USPI New Mexico Multispecialty Surgery Center is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced MA, LPN or Registered Nurse to join our team. The PAT Pre Admissions Testing nurse will play a crucial role in patient care by conducting comprehensive assessments, providing education, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our multi-specialty surgery patients while also providing quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The PAT Pre Admissions Testing Rn provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment:
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, focusing on medical history, symptoms, and treatment goals.
    • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
  2. Education and Counseling:
    • Provide patient education on multi-specialty surgery, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
    • Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
  3. Procedure Preparation:
    • Coordinate pre-procedure assessments, ensuring patients are adequately prepared for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
    • Address patient concerns and questions related to upcoming procedures.
  4. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams.

Required Skills:
  • Medical Assistant, LPN, or Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid New Mexico license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Pre-Admissions experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Mutli Surgery
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make sound nursing judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of gastroenterological conditions, procedures, and treatments.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

New Mexico Surgery Center Mutli Specialty/USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law. 


i) Ensure completed patient charts for next day are in locked cabinet in pre-op.
j) Leave memos communicating necessary information to pre-op staff and next day’s pre-admit staff.
k) Cross trains in related areas.


Required Experience:

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Currently licensed in the state. BLS required.

One year experience preferred intra-operative setting.
