The Medical Assistant will attend to patients/customers on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize daily responsibilities congruent with physician schedules. Assist physicians with giving the highest quality of care to every patient/customer. Triage patients/customers, complete review of systems, and prepare each patient/customer for the upcoming physician examination
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with timely flow of patient encounters by preparing the patient exam rooms, collecting appropriate equipment or supplies as requested.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patient, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature if indicated, and document all information in patient’s chart.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by Provider. Carries out orders and arranges for testing/treatment for the patient under the direction of the provider.
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments and prepare sterilization as required.
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/Provider/pharmacy calls in a timely manner.
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to Providers.
- Maintains accurate record keeping.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, expired medication samples).
- Assists in provisions for safe, clean and orderly environment for patients and fellow employees.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Refers situations beyond ability to appropriate staff member.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Demonstrates accountability and assumes professional and legal responsibilities for own actions.
- All other duties as assigned by clinical nurse manager.
Pay range: Min $20 - Max $30.96

Required Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered, certified or completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
(Maintain certification, license and CME’s). - Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
- Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
- Perform Prior Approvals for Specialty Pharmacies
- Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections (if applicable).
- Current certification in BLS.
