OR RN PRNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. OR RN PRNs are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. Responsibilities
Resurgens Surgery Center is a single-specialty outpatient surgery practice that specializes in orthopedic surgery.
- Our surgery center is a joint venture between Resurgens Orthopedic Group and USPI, the nation's largest provider of surgical services.
- We are currently searching for a PRN OR Registered Nurse to join our team.
- The OR Nurse is responsible for the nursing activities related to the care of the patient experiencing an operative or other invasive procedure.
- The staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from 12 months through adolescence
- Current American Heart BLS/ACLS/PALS certification and experience working as an operating room circulator are required.
- This is a full-time position- actual days and hours will vary.
- Ideal candidates will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies, and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team.
The successful Candidate:
- Determines data collection based on the patient's condition or needs as related to the proposed interventions
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change.
- Demonstrates a positive can-do attitude
- Work is accurate and complete
- Demonstrates knowledge and follows AORN standards
- Functions as a team member
- Completes initial and annual competencies as required.
- Maintains licenses and certifications.
- Adheres to dress code, attendance punctuality, meal break, and rest periods
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Attends required department and hospital meetings.
- Assumes responsibility for continuing education requirements
Required Skills:
- Current GA Nursing License
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
- Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
- Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
