USPI Northwest Surgery Centeris seeking a motivated Business Office Specialist to join our team. Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus. We have 7 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. The candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.

Job Summary: The Business Office Specialist interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff. Admit patients and process their paperwork. Update patient demographics/information in system. Collect monies due and document in billing system. Handle funds per office procedure. You have the opportunity to meet new people and build professional relationships with physician offices. Cross training for other Business Office positions a possibility.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of medical experience in insurance verification required
• 1-3 years of medical experience in billing required
• 1-3 years of medical experience in medical collections required
• Ambulatory Surgery environment strongly desired
• Must have the ability to effectively present information
• Basic math skills
• Computer competency
