USPI Texas Orthopedics Surgery Center in Austin is seeking a motivated Insurance Verifier to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Job Summary:  Verifies insurance coverage based on information provided by physician offices at the time of scheduling. Contacts patient to gather additional information if needed as well as to notify them of their financial responsibility prior to the scheduled date of service. Reviews financial obligation with patient and family member and is responsible for sending proper documentation to billing department. Prequalifies third party coverage of scheduled procedure and assists in the collection and follow-up of patient survey responses. Able to perform duties of Surgery Scheduler in the absence of the Surgery Scheduler; This includes, but not limited to, working with physician offices to schedule cases to be performed at facility. Actively coordinates with materials management regarding required equipment and/or supplies needed for scheduled cases. Also schedules cases for maximum efficiency.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two years’ previous experience hospital insurance verification required.
Computer, office equipment skills are required.
Medical terminology required.
