Full Time Patient Advocate

Bristol Surgery Center, a leading multispecialty surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, is seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as a Full-Time Payment Poster.

The Patient Advocate serves as a key point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while supporting front office operations. This role is responsible for patient registration, answering and directing phone calls, collecting and posting patient payments, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the surgical care process. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·Greet patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

·Complete patient registration and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information.

·Obtain required patient forms, consents, and documentation.

·Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out activities.

·Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

·Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.

·Direct calls to the appropriate department or individual.

·Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration, and general inquiries.

·Provide exceptional customer service and resolve patient concerns in a timely manner.

·Collect patient payments and issue receipts as appropriate.

·Post insurance and patient payments accurately into the practice management system.

·Assist with daily balancing and reconciliation of payment transactions.

·Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records.

·Process medical records requests in accordance with facility policies and HIPAA guidelines.

·Scan, file, and distribute clinical documentation accurately and timely.

·Ensure medical records are complete and accessible for patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

·High School Diploma or equivalent.

·Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare office, medical reception, patient registration, medical records, billing, or related healthcare setting.

·Strong customer service and communication skills.

·Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

·Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

·Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·Knowledge of medical terminology.

·Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

·Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

·Effective verbal and written communication skills.
