Job Summary: Under supervision of Plant Operations Director, the Facility Services Technician tours the facility and grounds to ensure that a safe and secure environment is maintained. Assists employees, patients and visitors, to parking areas in the evening or anytime requested. Investigate facility alarms and determine what course of action is needed following department policy / procedures. Ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly by following plant operations rounding sheet. Manage stock to support the facility par-levels and helps to prepare inventories. This position will be required to work varied hours, weekends, holidays, including days and evenings in same week

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This includes but not limited to the following:

  • Patrol areas of the facility in order to protect the property and the safety of the people.
  • Maintain a security watch and safeguard areas by viewing central security surveillance system.
  • Maintain radio communications with charge nurse while rounding
  • Responds, evaluates all building alarms, and determines what course of action is needed following policy / procedures
  • Maintains logs and records of occurrences, completes necessary paperwork, and communicates using email.
  • Provide information and directions to visitors.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems are functioning properly by following plant operations rounding sheet.
  • Unpacks, sorts, and stores items systematically on shelves, bins, or other storage areas.
  • Limited painting and building maintenance. 

Performs security rounds for fire/safety hazards, presence of unauthorized persons or potential sources of crime

Performs plant operation’s rounds according to established policy / procedures and maintains proper documentation.

Investigates fire alarms and makes determination what course of action is needed following policy / procedures.

Investigates medical gas alarms and makes determination what course of action is needed following policy / procedures.

Assists  visitor / staff by escorting them to parking lot during non-business hours, if requested

Assists visitors with directions and other general information as needed


Required Experience:

Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.

Maintains regulatory requirements

Maintains patient confidentiality at all times

Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.

Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized time system correctly.

Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion

Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner

Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices

Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department

Regulatory Requirements:

  • igh School graduate or equivalent
  • Arizona Guard Card
  • CrisHis Intervention Prevention (CIP) (preferred, facility sponsored training available within 60 days of hire)
  • Basic Life Support Certified (BLS) (preferred, facility sponsored training available within 60 days of hire)

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

  • Organized and efficient.
