Medical Records/Business Office Float at Millennium Surgical Center 
Maintains and reviews the medical records to assure the timely completion and proper authentication of all records.  Safeguards the medical records while making them readily accessible at all times. The ideal candidate will be floating to other departments and is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office necessary. Many duties include answering the phone, front desk reception, data entry, insurance verification, patient calls and chart scanning.  Must have outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast paced working environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:   
  • Audit medical records for accuracy and completion.
  • Filing and maintenance of documents in the medical record, paper and in electronic storage.
  • Assist clinical team in ensuring all charts are completed by nursing staff and physicians.
  • Pull charts daily for physicians and anesthesiologist that will be present at the center for that day.  Post a reminder notice for those doctors whose charts need to be completed.  
  • Send delinquent chart notification to Medical Staff.
  • Pick up charts daily for return to the medical records area.
  • Review, correct, print, and file all operative reports daily.
  • Receives and copies requests for medical records.
  • Reviews medical records for final audit.
  • Provide relief for front business office functions.
  • Cross-trained to fill in and effectively perform all other business office job related functions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager.
Qualifications 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hospital or medical office experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
  • Show a genuine desire to work and improve the facility as a whole.
  • Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
Pay Range: $21.00/hr - $25.00/hr (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
