Chesterfield Surgery Center, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated Histo Tech to join our esteemed team. As a Histo Tech, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients, while upholding our core beliefs of value, integrity, continuity, accessibility, and community engagement. 

Histology Technician at Chesterfield Surgery Center

The Histology Technician plays a vital role in implementing the laboratory's mission, goals, and objectives by embodying the lab's vision and values. This position supports laboratory operations by performing various technical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include processing and embedding tissue specimens, preparing slides for microscopic examination, performing routine and special staining techniques, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution OR
  • Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR
  • Education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in science, including at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution with a minimum of:

o24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR

o24 semester hours of science courses, including 6 hours in chemistry and 6 hours in biology.

  • Registered as a Histology Technician HT (ASCP) or willingness to sit for the exam (preferred but not required)..
