Insurance Collector Specialist at St. Thomas Surgery Center Clarksville

The Collector is responsible for managing the facility’s Accounts Receivable (A/R) report and ensuring timely collection of payments from insurance companies. This role involves actively pursuing reimbursement for processed claims and resolving any issues related to underpayment or denial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work A/R reports to collect outstanding balances from insurance carriers.
  • Advocate for reimbursement by following up on denied or delayed claims.
  • Accurately validate and enter patient and insurance information into the appropriate system.
  • Communicate with physician offices and insurance companies to resolve claim issues.
  • Conduct patient follow-ups as needed.
  • Provide coverage for registration duties when necessary.

Required Skills:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent office etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the payment processing of a claim under a managed care contract.
  • Computer skills.
