Responsibilities
Conroe Surgery Center is a fast-paced ambulatory surgical center (ASC) committed to delivering the highest quality surgical care and patient experience. We specialize in a variety of outpatient procedures across multiple specialties in a supportive and team-driven environment. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our OR team.
Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist is a key member of the surgical team, assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room before, during, and after procedures. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on OR experience and be proficient in preparing surgical instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting a smooth operative flow across various specialties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical setups
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and properly maintained
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficiency
- Follow infection control and safety standards at all times
- Assist with room turnover and restocking of supplies
- Collaborate with RNs and other surgical team members to provide optimal patient care
Required Skills:
- Proficient in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Strong understanding of OR protocols and safety procedures
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
- Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail in fast-paced clinical settings
- Comfortable working across various specialties and adapting to different procedures
Required Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting
- Familiarity with multiple specialties preferred (e.g., Orthopedics, ENT, General Surgery, GI, etc.)
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) is a plus
