The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of medical and office supplies necessary for the efficient operation of our healthcare facility. This role ensures that materials and equipment are available when needed while managing costs and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity for career growth in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and inventory of medical supplies, surgical instruments, and office materials
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of all supplies to ensure availability for clinical and administrative staff
- Collaborate with clinical teams to forecast supply needs and avoid shortages or excess inventory
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing and terms while ensuring quality and reliability
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and reduce waste
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient materials management and cost control
- Coordinate with finance and business office to track purchasing budgets and expenditures
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Train and supervise materials staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient care support
