Purchasing Coordinator - Inventoried Supplies
Dakota Dunes, South Dakota Siouxland Surgical Hospital (13150)Works under the supervision of the Director of Materials Management. Primary function is to verify billing charges on procedures completed in the hospital. Also, job incorporates ordering implants, supplies & equipment for all areas of hospital in a cost efficient manner. When items are backordered notify director and procure substitutes when possible.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

2.Verify procedures after completed & order inventory used as necessary
3.Coordinates the ongoing, timely provision of materials and services for hospital.
4.Works to improve internal processes and procedures and stakeholder engagement for requisitions and contract management, focusing on quality and
5.Inspects inbound freight for damages and discrepancies and works to resolve issue.
6.Notifies director of on-hand inventory variances, indicating quantity issued, quantity on hand, and system balance. This is done daily, as problems are identified.
7.Completes special projects in preparation for accreditation and/or regulatory visits.
8.Assists with the reviewing the available quality and patient safety data to identify areas of high risk for standards deviation; working collaboratively with hospital leaders, develops action plans to correct deficiencies and ensures implementation and monitoring of those plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:High School Diploma.
- Experience: Surgical experience preferred. Three years of experience in materials management or supply chain preferred.
- Special Skills: Strong interpersonal skills beneficial.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Strong computer skills required.
- Mental Abilities: Must be able to comprehend policies, procedures and guidelines.Requires flexibility to multitask and adjust to changes in priorities.
- Working conditions:
·Will be working in a clean, well-lighted area.
·May be required to deal with unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or patient activity.
·Hazards & Risks: Direct patient contact with possible exposure to infectious agents &/or communicable diseases. Occasional exposure to radiation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1.Physical Abilities: May be asked to exert at least 25 pounds of force to assist with patients.Frequent standing, bending and stooping involved. Sitting at computer for extended periods.
2.Hazards and Risks: Possible exposure to communicable diseases, exposure to radiation, anesthetic scavenger gases and CRT.
