Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a Full-time Patient Care Technician for the day shift, 7a - 7p.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.

Job Summary:



Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Required Skills:

Position Qualifications:

  • High school student or graduate or equivalent. 
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR 
  • Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.
  • Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
  • Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
  • One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
  • Patient Interviewing skills
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
  • Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
