Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a PRN Pharmacy Tech with flexibility to work 6a - 2p or 2p - 10p.

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility in stocking Pyxis, unit dose packaging and maintenance of floor stock, and maintaining appropriate records and charges; assisting in related activities as directed by Director of Pharmacy or CNO in Director’s absence.
Required Experience:
Position Qualifications:
- High school graduate
- Active pharmacy technician registration issued by the Texas State Board of pharmacy
- Active certified pharmacy technician license by PTCB
- Certificate in sterile compounding
- Must have mathematical ability to calculate dosages and volumes
- Maintains aseptic technique
- Makes rounds and delivers labeled medications, controlled substances and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Answers telephone and provides information as requested or refers questions to appropriate personnel.
- Generates labels and fills drug orders according to physicians’ orders.
- Refills Pyxis with accuracy and maintains par levels
- Responsible for unit-dose packaging and documentation
- Charges and credits drugs as needed
- Removes expiring drugs from Pyxis and pharmacy shelved
- Orders drugs from approved vendors
- Assists with the initiation, development, maintenance, and execution of rules and regulations pertaining to the professional policies set by the Pharmacy Department.
- Assists in keeping all work areas clean, neat, and orderly.
- Attains/maintains knowledge of the pharmacy computer system from the standpoint of a user of the system.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
