FACTS ABOUT NORTH CENTRAL: Opened in 2005, 14 Operating Rooms and 30 Medical/Surgical Patient Rooms.  We are conveniently located at Walnut Hill & 75 in the prestigious NorthPark area Specialties include: Orthopedics, Spine, General Surgery, Pain Management, Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Plastic, Podiatry and Bariatric surgeries. We are currently looking for a Float Pool RN to join our North Central Surgical Center team.

The Float Pool RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for assigned patient population in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. He/she ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, TJC, and all Federal and State standards of care. This position is assigned to respond to patients presenting to facility with a healthcare need. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. 


Required Skills:
  • Current Texas Nursing License
  • Current BLS
  • Must attain ACLS and PALS by 90 days of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum 1-2 year experience in a Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate,
  • working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and solve problems and correct errors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective the public.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
