JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the business office functions, processes, and staff of the facility until a Business Office Manager is hired and transitioned to the RCM SD Manager of Business Office Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- 50% to 75% travel throughout the US.
- Perform a Site Visit with Action Plan during the first visit. Report to be sent to Key Leadership Team (Administrator, RVP, MP, Sr. Director of RCM SD).
- Put a plan into place to complete cross training of all business office staff.
- Train business office staff on Business Office Manager functions (DDL, DEPL, etc.)
- Complete the daily business office functions of the facility.
- Reporting the pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Key Leadership Team.
- Appointing a Business Office employee who will be lead in the absence of the BOM/ SWAT BOM.
- Provide weekly reporting to Key Leadership Team.
- Up to 75% travel required.
- Deploy, monitor, and ensure that USPI's Segregation of Duties are followed and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with USPI's policies and procedures as related to internal controls.
- Develop, monitor, and control the business office staffing needs.
- Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Coverage.
- Create and maintain a collaborative and positive work relationship between the Business Office and Clinical Staff along with the USPI Home Departments.
- Closely monitor variations in the business office key functions to avoid work-flow issues.
- Manage and maintain oversight of any Business Office functions via daily/weekly calls and PAS reporting while working in their Home Office.
- Hold daily/weekly business office staff meetings outlining daily/weekly priorities of the facility.
- Evaluate business office staff performance.
- Implement training for all Business Office employees.
- Evaluate and train on Business Office Best Practices in order to improve business office functions and cash flow.
- Ensure procedures, implants and revenue are captured on a daily basis.
- Identify and correct scheduling, verification, POS collections, billing, posting and collections concerns.
- Develop and maintain CBO relationship along with ASC to CBO workflows. (where CBO is utilized).
- Attending required ASC meetings representing the Business Office.
- Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Tenet/USPI.
- Keep Administrator apprised of daily findings and action plans.
- Identify areas that require additional training through education.
- Should demonstrate the ability to work as a team member in multiple departments.
- Must be able to communicate directly and professionally.
- Be flexible, reliable, productive, and self-motivated.
- Follow the facility's professional conduct and dress code policy.
- Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians and their office staff, patients, and employees.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Business Office Management and Revenue Cycle experience.
- Strong understanding of Revenue Cycle Operations within an ASC setting and/or demonstrated relevant knowledge.
- Proven success in project management roles, to include developing and implementing business initiatives.
- Understanding of the industry trends, market dynamics, and key performance indicators.
- AdvantX, HST, gMed, SIS Office a plus.
TRAVEL:
50% to 75% travel within US. Must be willing to travel to serve as Business Office Manager within all USPI Markets and Regions based on need.
COMPENSATION
- Pay: $77,376-$123,552 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
- Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
