Responsibilities
USPI Paso Del Norte is seeking a motivated OR Charge Nurse to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Anesthesia, ENT, General, GI, Ortho, OB/GYN, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. The candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.
Job Duties:
- Oversee patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Mentor and train new staff while providing support and guidance to all staff members.
- Monitor medical charts and administer compassionate care and assistance to patients and families.
- Liaise with doctors and administrators and communicate protocol changes to staff.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
- Baccalaureate degree preferred or work-related experience.
- Current Texas RN License
- BLS, ACLS required.
- Three (3) years' experience in intra-operative setting.
- One year of leadership required intra-operative setting.
- Independent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
- Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
- Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Shall be physically able to stand, walk, and maintain varied body motions and positions for long periods of time.
- Shall be able to move up to 100 lbs.
