USPI’s Coastal Eye Surgery Center is currently hiring for a regular full-time Clinical Manager, RN for our ASC. The Clinical Manager is accountable for leading and managing the daily operations of the center, and will work to continuously improve quality care while creating and maintaining a healthy workplace, in collaboration with USPI leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Determines and flex staffing standards based on patient care needs, patient flow, medical acuity, procedures, staff skills and other clinical needs.
  • Assumes accountability for day-to-day operations of the department while continuing to function clinically when necessary.
  • Incorporates ASPAN standards to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Creates and maintains a caring and compassionate patient-focused environment that excels by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to share the organizational mission and vision with their team, creating synergistic relationships with other departments and improve clinical processes and performance.
  • Recognizes how complex change impacts their team. Acknowledges the psychological transition and affect change has on self and others.
  • Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans; modifying one’s own behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals involved. Supports staff during times of difficult transitions.
  • Working with the RVP, the Clinical Manager is accountable for professional development that improves the quality of patient care and the professional skills of the peri anesthesia team.
  • Assumes formal leadership responsibilities for staff levels and coverage, local human resource management, payroll, accounts payable, oversight of Business Office, as well as departmental development and education, and safety/regulatory reporting and preparation.

Skills

  • Understanding of budgeting, resourcing and performance evaluation procedures
  • Knowledge of standards (e.g. ISO) and regulations for the clinical field
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (e.g. patient management software)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts


Required Skills:
  • Graduate of a professional school of Nursing. 
  • Current licensed in ME
  • Current certification in BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • At least five years operating room/critical care experience preferred.
  • At least two years supervisory experience in the outpatient surgery area preferred.
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Staff Nurse are required for this position.
