Under general direction from Center Manager, the Nurse Supervisor provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient.The registered nurse is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families. If there is a non-clinical Center Manager in place, then the Nurse with this Job Description title will also act as the Clinical Lead in support of the Center Manager.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the QAPI Coordinator, ensure that quarterly meetings are held and minutes are maintained for these meetings.
- Monitors pharmacy compliance and ensures quarterly inspections are scheduled and completed.
- Ensure Policy/Procedure updates are implemented
- Organize employee schedule such that adequate staffing is available for each day.
- Attend Regional Clinical Market Meetings quarterly.
- Adheres to Center’s policies and procedures.
- Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
- Attends staff meetings and if unable to attend, reads and initials meeting minutes and other
- documents applicable.
- Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement
- (CQI) activities.
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the Center, as well as the focus statement of the department.
- Seeks educational opportunities and accepts responsibilities for own professional growth and development.
- Must maintain patient right to privacy by not discussing privileged information outside the work area or within hearing range of visitors, family or patient.
Required Skills:
- Graduate of a professional school of Nursing.
- Current licensed in ME
- Current certification in BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- At least three years operating room/critical care experience preferred.
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Staff Nurse are required for this position.
