OR Manager RN Full Time

Advanced Surgery Center of North County

United Surgical Partners International is a company that specializes in the development and operation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities in the U.S.  We provide first-class surgical services for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one assets. The OR Manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the ASC mission, vision, and facility goals. The Manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Manager identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. The Department Manager works with Senior Management in meeting Facility goals. Oversees surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services. Assists as RN Circulator and Scrub Tech as necessary.

  • Schedule and Supervise the OR staff (Nurses, Radiology, Surgical, SPD and Anesthesia techs) to provide a daily smooth flow of cases.
  • Assist in coordination of daily case scheduling in the O.R. with other staff to ensure schedule will flow smoothly
  • Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly O.R. staff meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
  • Orders instruments and equipment for cases.
  • Provide OR education by coordinating and/or giving in-services.
  • Supervise the evening shift which includes coordination of the staff for case completions of the day and setting up for the next day
  • Communicate with vendors and representatives for supplies, equipment or instruments that are needed for cases.
  • Works closely with Materials and Sterile Processing Dept to coordinate supplies & instrument needs to physician preference and case need.
  • Prepare and administer annual evaluations
  • Participate in hiring and orienting OR staff members
  • Revise and review O.R. policies and procedures
  • Maintain compliance for Joint Commission accreditation
  • Enter company data collections and observations with company EDGE
  • Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
  • Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.
  • Able to process problems as opportunities

Hourly Range: $50 - $75 / hour

Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.


Required Skills:

* Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.

* Baccalaureate degree preferred.

* Two years' experience in surgery as RN Circulator

*Current CA RN License- BLS

* Independent decision making skills.

* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

* Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.


Required Experience:

Must have Ortho experience in the OR.
