Job Summary:

The RN Pre-op/PACU is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN Pre-op/PACU supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN Pre-op/PACU reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

USPI’S EDGE™ is the key to the differentiation of USPI as a customer-focused company.  The process of completing EDGE™ requirements establishes processes and measurements that are collected, assimilated, and shared throughout USPI.  All employees are involved with EDGE™.  The involvement can range from doing their jobs to taking on the role of gathering and/or entering data into the computer.  All employees shall at some time during their employment be required to participate in the EDGE™ program.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $62.00/hour
Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

• Current CA Nursing License
• Current CPR, ACLS
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 year experience in a hospital setting
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
• Excellent teaching skills
• Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

*Experience working in an ASC is a plus.
