Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Business Office Coordinator (BOC) is responsible for the supervision of all business office functions and the financial position at the Surgery Center.The BOC must also enforce the policies, protocols and procedures of that Center.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
DUTIES:
- Revenue Cycle Management
- Insurance verification as needed
- EOB interpretation
- Hire and supervise Business Office Staff in accordance with sound personnel management principles and USPIs policies and procedures.
- Supervise all medical record activities of the Center in a manner consistent with the clinical needs of the center.
- Provide orientation and training to business office staff
- Encourage staff toward self-improvement
- Assist with employee job performance evaluations.
- Prepare monthly statistical / financial reports
- Create and manage case mix, managed care and staff tracking spreadsheets.
- Coordinate with CBO in regards to center Billing and Collections
- Vacation coverage at the reception/check-in and insurance verification.
- Possess team mentality, but also work well independently, must be outgoing with a positive attitude.
Required Skills:
- College degree or equivalent preferred but not required. Will consider experience over education.
- Experience working with physicians is required
- Medical terminology, CPT/ICD 9 Orthopedic coding knowledge required
- Experience in A/R and A/P preferred
- 2+ years in Medical Ins.Verification
- 2+ years in a Supervisory position preferred
- Ability to read and interpret EOB correctly- required.
- Must be computer savvy w/excellent excel and 10key skills, typing 40wpm+
- Experience in an outpatient or medical facility setting a must.
