Admissions Clerk at Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth :

  • Performs clerical duties involved with admission of patients, keeping delays to a minimum
  • Ensures identification, insurance and all Admissions paperwork is scanned into the PAS system
  • Directs patient to appropriate area upon arrival
  • Ensures patient is registered and marked properly in the PAS system
  • Understands how to add a walk-in or direct admit into the PAS system
  • Prepares charts/packets as assigned
  • Expedites patient complaints and concerns promptly to correct department
  • Answers incoming calls, responding correctly or transferring as needed
  • Assists with distribution of mail and messages
  • Responds promptly when code is alerted
  • Logs payments, maintains daily and balance cash drawer
  • Completes End of Shift duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education- High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS required

Minimum 1 year customer service experience, previous medical office experience helpful

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Basic office skills
  • Excellent telephone skills - ability to screen incoming calls, adequately respond to telephone inquiries.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged communications and work product.
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Care Record system for documentation to patients account/record
