Radiology Special Procedures Technologist at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:
·Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.
·Under minimal supervision, performs basic to complex Operating Room diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.
·Provides technical support for interventional radiographic examinations.
·Completes established competencies for the position.
·Operates imaging equipment, C-Arms, O-Arms, prepares examination rooms, and maintains equipment, supplies, and medications.
·Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs throughout the patient care areas to include but not limited to: OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, and placements.
·Assists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, and OR procedures.
·Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams preformed.
·Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
·Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
·Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
·Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Manager/Director.
·Takes department call as assigned.

Required Skills:
Education:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
· Graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiology Technology
Licensure/Certification:
·Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate
·Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License
·Current BLS certification

Required Experience:
·Minimum of 2 years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exams
·Experience using C-Arms in an Operating room
·Must possess independent decision-making skills
·Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
·Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families
·Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way
·Ability to utilize the Electronic Health Record for patient documentation
